這就是原聲音樂裡到處是掛留和弦的原因：按住 sus4 一整小節，放下一根手指，解決自己就發生了。在譜面上，sus 和弦是“移動一根手指”的指令，不是“學一個新指型”。

掛留是讓兩和弦的歌聽起來像四和弦的最省事辦法。把 sus 指型按住一兩拍，再鬆開那根製造掛留的手指；聽眾聽到的是運動，而沒有任何新和弦進場。

兩條規則覆蓋大多數情況。在大調裡，主和弦上的 sus4（Dsus4 解決到 D）最常見。在屬和弦上，解決到屬七的 sus4（A7sus4 到 A7）會產生你在大量原聲搖滾裡聽到的持續音效果，因為四度音正好就是下方五度那個和弦的根音。

Sus2 和 sus4 不能互換。Sus4 是更老派、更民謠的聲音，迫不及待地要解決；sus2 更現代、更開闊，整整一小節不解決也不覺得沒彈完，所以它出現在創作歌手的掃弦裡，而不是聖詠裡。

## Practice

1. 彈 D，再 Dsus4，再回 D，三根手指保持原位，只動製造掛留的那根。每天十次，直到鬆開成為本能。
2. Dsus4 按住一整小節，第 3 拍落回 D。再試試按住三拍、第 4 拍鬆開。第二種就是你每張原聲唱片裡都能聽到的民謠掃法。
3. 單獨彈一小節 Dsus2，不解決。它穩得住；Dsus4 穩不住。這個差別就是 sus2 出現在創作歌手聲部、sus4 出現在聖詠裡的原因。

## Practical use

值得學，而且是上手成本最低的一族：大多數 sus 指型就是你現在彈的和弦挪一根手指。會四個開放和弦，就已經會它們的 sus 版本。
