Guitar tools FAQ
Do I need to install anything to use these tools?
No. All 14 tools run entirely in your browser as plain pages: no app store, no extension, no account and no download. The chord diagrams, audio previews and fretboard charts are generated on the page itself, which is also why they never disagree with each other.
Which guitar tool should a beginner start with?
Tune first, every single time. A guitar that is a few cents out makes every chord sound wrong and teaches your ear the wrong thing. Then open the chord finder to learn the eight open chords, and use the metronome at a slow tempo while you change between them. Twenty minutes of that beats an hour of unfocused strumming.
Do these guitar tools work on a phone?
Yes. Every tool is built for one-handed phone use at the guitar, with controls sized for thumbs and no hover-only interactions. The chord diagrams and fretboards scale to the screen, and the tuner and metronome use the phone microphone and speaker directly.
Can I use the tools offline?
Yes, after your first visit. The site installs to your home screen as a web app, and the chord diagrams, song sheets and every tool then work with no connection at all. That matters in a practice room with bad wifi, which is most practice rooms.
Are the tools free, and what is the catch?
Every tool is free and stays free: no signup, no paywall and no email capture. The site is built from one open data set of 166 chord shapes, so a tool is never a funnel towards a subscription.
